On trend costume jewelry for the “It” gal in your life

The Find

Nothing makes me smile more than stumbling on a great retail find. I discovered ktCOLLECTION while enroute from picking my son up from school. We stopped in together, but since my five year old boy doesn’t love to shop (huh?!), I made a solo trip back one evening. The discoveries were insane and I loved every piece in the store.

Carnelian-breasted Bird brooch

Katie Thompson, Owner, was designing jewelry in the early new millennium as a hobby, and people loved her creations. In 2010, she opened a small store at the corner of 74th and Columbus Avenue in New York City. In late 2016, she moved to a larger space located on the West Side of 73rd and Columbus Avenue. She carries her own creations, so when you shop, you are not buying the same piece that half of your friends have.

Marcasite Spotted Leopard brooch

The wonderful feature of her store, aside from not seeing yourself coming and going, is that it’s a friendly, neighborhood place to shop. With retail rents being what they are, the Upper West Side has lost a lot of those, and Katie brings some individuality back to the neighborhood.
I walked away with some goodies and had to share, because even if you don’t live in New York, you can order from her website.

So what did I find?

Square-cut Green Onyx gemstone ring

A square cut green onyx gemstone gold ring for $78.00…I’m so in love with green. Year round, it’s a beautiful, happy color, that’s surprisingly versatile.

Initial pendant silver bracelet

I saw the Initial pendant silver bracelet for $48.00, and purchased my son’s initial for sentimental reasons.

I wear this bracelet every day. It’s super light and they sized it for me for no additional charge.

Druzy Stone Chandelier earrings

The Druzy Stone Chandelier earrings, ($35.00,) also came home with me.

Estate Marcasite and Onyx Silver brooch

As I was getting ready to pay for my damage, a brooch caught my eye that reminded me of one that my grandmother had. The Estate Marcasite and Onyx silver brooch ($78.00). That came home too, and was a gift to my Mom for Valentine’s Day, which she loved.

Blue Bobble ring

Additionally, Katie offers a small collection of handbags, scarves and gloves, and I can’t help but feeling like I’m entering the accessory closet I’ve always wanted, when I visit the shop, which is why I keep going back
Definitely check out the Textured Circle Drop Mixed Metal necklace and all of her Druzy.

You can visit Katie at 276 Columbus Ave, New York, NY 10023
