Baselworld 2017

The annual luxe-fest watch & jewellery show that is Baselworld will be upon us in over a week. There, 1500 exhibitors will try to astound 145,000 visitors with their offerings.

Until then, we are pleased to give you a sneak preview of two of Chopard’s charming collections for ladies.

Happy Hearts

Malachite and diamonds in unison

Happy Hearts Malachite

First up, are novelties in the established Happy Hearts Collection.
The two signature motifs of ‘moving diamonds’ and hearts are a cherished combo at the House of Chopard. Chopard Co-President, Caroline Scheufele is particularly fond of the Happy Hearts and wears them privately as daily wear.
AlphaLuxe featured the Happy Hearts for Valentine’s Day

This year, Happy Hearts are joined by a variant in diamonds and malachite — the ‘positive energy’ stone.
Happy Hearts are usually dainty jewellery pieces in white or rose gold, and adorned with wide hearts, either skeletonised or gem-set with coloured stones, and sprinkled with signature tiny hearts holding moving diamonds.

Malachite and diamonds for a precious variation

A grade up from the simple Happy Hearts, the new versions are more sophisticated and precious…they’re bigger and cost more!

The hearts are now solid and set with diamonds, which sparkle and bring the malachite hearts into play.
The designers got all excited that for the first time, jewellery pieces are not only created around hearts set with a coloured stone and accessorised with moving diamonds, but delicately alternate between moving diamonds, diamond hearts and hearts set with malachite, resulting in a more desirable combination, rich with diamonds.

If you believe in gemstone mojo, malachite is believed to have protective virtues and a source of positive energy. Chopard used malachite with a vibrantly glowing shade of green streaked with softer or darker green veins for visual stimulation.

A collection just “For You”

If Luxury is something conducive to sumptuous living, usually a delicacy, elegance, or refinement of living rather than a necessity, then hold on to your hats because the next Chopard Collection will astound you. It’s definitely something you don’t need but want….

For You cherry blossom theme

Jewellery creations usually appear from a precious blend of elegance, expertise and originality. Chopard invocated metaphysics with the For You collection, by flirting with demystified luxury in ready-to-wear pieces.

The goal was to bring a light and airy feel to High Jewellery with cherry blossoms as the main theme. Just in time for Spring and just For You, the white gold jewellery sets feature rings and earrings studded with diamonds or emeralds.

For You cherry blossom theme

Stud or cluster earrings, single rings or “You and Me” versions composed of two flowers facing each other: For You jewellery is graced with delicate pear-shaped diamonds or emeralds blossoming in a sparkling corolla around a brilliant-cut pistil.

We’ll just show the watches from For You Collection for now, as a teaser.
The jewellery watches are set with pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds or emeralds in the floral style.
They are fitted with a satin strap.

When they say For You is the new definition of discreet luxury, do they mean it’s affordable?  🙂
