Ice Ice, Baby

Original Ice Cube watches

Way back in 1999, Chopard introduced the, then, avant-garde collection of jewellery and watches inspired by ice cubes. The geometrical shape lent itself well to gem-setting because you could choose how many of the facets would be blinged up with gemstones, according to your budget. There was even a special edition in Malaysia with red resin cubes…precious plastic!  🙂

Cubism

Six facets, twelve ridges, eight peaks. The cube spells minimalist geometric perfection. Sharp, clean, more rock than romance, mid-way between urban chic and modern glamour, Ice Cube makes light of genres and conventions… Cool to the point of being glacial?

Because it can!

Ice Cube Pure – Photoshoot

The Ice Cube is back for 2017 as Ice Cube Pure.

With the same Spirit but for a different Time.
The Ice Cube Pure has smaller cubes; polished or diamond-set, with more emphasis on a rectilinear motif in tightly packed rows. Rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets for the hippest wrists – or even on your ankles!

You are free to use them on their own or part of a stack.

A Conscionable Choice  #fairmined

Because sustainable luxury is a priority today, Chopard chose ethical ‘Fairmined’ certified gold for this collection as the way to go. It’s a symbol of being ‘truly 21st century’. It is a label that guarantees respect for the mining community and the environment, used in High Jewellery since 2013 for the Green Carpet collection and in Haute Horlogerie for L.U.C watches.

FAIRMINED label

Making Ice Cube Pure part of this process shows Chopard’s determination to extend the choice of ethical gold to all its products over time. Even lower down the gemmological food-chain

Whatever it takes….. You can’t get cooler than that.
