Luxury lingerie stolen in undercover heist before public launch of new brand ‘Les Girls Les Boys’.
Just before the 1st September 2017 launch of new lingerie label ‘Les Girls Les Boys’, thieves stole £1 million of luxury undergarments from parked truck, while the driver was asleep.
South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation, and the brand has offered a cash reward to “uncover” information that leads to a prosecution. The fabric-sided truck was cut open while it was parked on the outskirts of Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The lorry was only 25 miles from its destination in Leeds but the driver was obliged to stop because he had exceeded the number of driving hours permitted by the European Union, after travelling from Stuttgart.
Police are searching for 12,000 items of luxury underwear. Police said: “The fact that the items were not yet on the market will help us to track them down. We are asking anyone who has information to call us.”
The booty included “gender-fluid” or unisex panties.
Established by Agent Provocateur founder, Serena Rees, the Les Girls Les Boys label is promoted by the actress Sienna Miller.
Rees founded Agent Provocateur in 1994 with her then husband, Joseph Corré, the son of designer Vivienne Westwood. Following the couple’s divorce, the company was bought by a private equity firm for £60m in 2007.
Les Girls Les Boys is a unisex “collection of modern intimates and layers” comprising underwear, T-shirts, pyjamas, hoodies and jogging bottoms, with prices ranging from £20 to £120 ($26 to $154).
Serena Rees said there was a need for “an open-minded brand with a more diverse story to tell”, explaining that she had been inspired by the way her children shared each other’s clothes.
You couldn’t ask for better publicity just before the public launch of a new brand than a pantie raid and heist!
Now, everyone knows their name: Les Girls Les Boys
The Les Girls Les Boys models above, look very good in their garments but we are yet to be convinced by adequate coverage and function of the “gender-fluid” boy’s brief…. 😉
