Rolls-Royce chose the world’s most prestigious and celebrated showcase of luxury motoring, the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during Monterey Car Week, to make its grand entrance in North America.
“The festivities around the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance have been the premier gathering place for affluent and influential car lovers for the past 66 years,” said Pedro Mota, President of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Americas. “There is no better place for the New Phantom to make a grand entrance. When some of us come back generations from today, it will be classic creations like the New Phantom that will be adorning the lawn here at Pebble Beach.”
Capitalising on the panoramic view of the Monterey peninsula, the roads offered the ultimate backdrop to experience the ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ that defines a Rolls-Royce. In addition to showcasing the New Phantom, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showed a curated collection of specially Bespoke motor cars, designed especially for Pebble Beach.
More about ‘The Gallery’
Since our Launch Report, Rolls Royce revealed more about the enigmatic bespoke offering of ‘The Gallery’. An unprecedented new concept in luxury, ‘The Gallery’ reinterprets the motor car’s dashboard for the first time in 100 years. Owners will be able to commission a truly individual work of art that spans the width of ‘The Gallery’ and sits behind a single pane of glass in their New Phantom.
These include an oil painting inspired by the South Downs of England in Autumn by renowned Chinese fine artist Liang Yuanwei, a gold-plated 3D-printed map of an owners DNA created by the ‘enfant terrible’ of German product design Thorsten Franck, a hand-made stem of the finest porcelain roses handmade by world renowned porcelain manufacturer Nymphenburg and an abstract design in silk by young British artist Helen Amy Murray.
Also involved are artists and studios such as Richard Fox, ‘Based Upon’ and ‘Nature Squared’.
Our North American cousins now have access to the new Phantom VIII and it’s bespoke luxury.
“The true cost of luxury is the choice that it affords.”
