5th January 2018
The AN-ti-CI-pation is over and thousands of MINI owners finally know where they will be this July.
MINI USA announced the official route for MINI TAKES THE STATES (MTTS) 2018. MINI fans on the legendary rally will start their runs from two locations on opposite sides of the country between 14 – 22 July, to meet in the middle for a weekend celebration of everything MINI.
The Eastern leg will start from Orlando, Florida while the Western leg begins in Portland, Oregon. The final destination is Keystone Resort in Keystone, Colorado. SatNavs will be aiming for a spot approximately 75 miles west of downtown Denver.
Upon arrival at Keystone, MINI drivers from both legs will have the weekend to share their experiences, trade stories, show off their MINI, explore the area on selected mountain drives, support a charity (to be announced later) and enjoy fun activities planned by the MINI USA team.
Since the inaugural biennial rally in 2006, there have been six road trips. The 7th MTTS rally will purposely traverse America’s scenic backroads and byways, so that MINI owners can enjoy their cars with thousands of likeminded MINI-MEs, while taking in some of the best scenery that USA has to offer.
MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 attracted more than 4,000 MINI owners with more than 900 owners going “all the way.”
“MINI TAKES THE STATES is the ultimate road trip and we’re excited to share this adventure with MINI owners from all over the U.S.,” said Thomas Felbermair, Vice President MINI Americas Region. “This will be my second MTTS adventure and although I can only be on one route I am looking forward to meeting up with the rest of the MINI community when we gather to celebrate our MTTS experience in Keystone.”
