Chopard’s Big Heart
Chopard has made the Big Heart their emblem, through many iterations of creativity and symbolic representation of its values. Chopard dedicates its Happy Hearts collection to every woman with a Big Heart, through creations worn like a visible talisman of happiness.
This year, Happy Hearts welcome new versions in Tahitian mother-of-pearl, white mother-of-pearl and opal to join the colourful collection. It is a collection that Caroline Scheufele wears as her ‘g0-to’ jewelry.
The Heart, a Chopard signature
“If I were to associate Chopard with a motif, it would be a Big Heart because there is a family behind it”. It is in these terms that Caroline Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, explains the importance of the values at the Geneva-based Maison: altruism, generosity and benevolence are the essential qualities governing their family-run success. Above and beyond its symbolism for lovers, it evokes the heart as a giver of life.
Happy Hearts, a visible talisman of happiness
For those in the know, the Happy Hearts collection embodies all that Chopard represents, melding the Heart emblem by Caroline and the iconic, moving ‘Happy Diamonds’ named by her mother — Karin — that made the fortune of the Maison.
The Happy Hearts collection provides tokens to mark moments of happiness and fond memories whenever they are seen. A visible talisman may be passed on from generation to generation as happy gift.
Mother-of-pearl and opal hearts
The heart of these Happy Heart pieces has welcomed a broad palette of colourful stones to allow freedom to women’s imagination as they mix and match jewellery with their outfit each day. This year, new variations in black Tahitian mother-of-pearl, white mother-of-pearl, and opal set with a border of diamonds join the versions already existing in red, pink, blue, green and turquoise, as well as diamonds, onyx, malachite and tiger’s eye.
Precious and rare, delicate and iridescent, Tahitian mother-of-pearl is sourced from the treasures of the sea. Harvested from the heart of shells of black lip oyster (Pinctada margaritifera) primarily cultivated around the Tahitian islands of French Polynesia, it is a symbol of tenderness and love.
Tahitian mother-of-pearl, enveloped by 18-carat rose gold, makes its grand entrance into the collection with earrings and a matching bangle with two ends; one tipped with a large mother-of-pearl heart and a smaller one featuring a moving diamond dancing between two sapphire crystals.
A sautoir necklace, a pendant, a bracelet and two rings round off this jewellery set in an elegant parade of mother-of-pearl hearts, diamond-set hearts and hearts with moving diamonds.
For every piece in Tahitian mother-of-pearl, there is a matching variant in white mother-of-pearl.
Opal is a stone renown for its ever-changing colours that glow with silvery radiance as a symbol of life and passion in a sautoir necklace, a pendant, a bangle, a bracelet and earrings.
Exquisitely combining a moving diamond with an opal heart rimmed by a dainty row of diamonds, these jewellery creations are available in 18-carat white gold.
White Mother-of-Pearl references are available at all Chopard outlets.
Tahitian Mother-of-Pearl and Opal references are exclusive to Chopard Boutiques.
